André Brasseur wurde 1939 in Ham-sur-Sambre geboren. 1965 schrieb er den weltweiten Erfolg „Early Bird“, der über zehn Millionen Mal verkauft wurde. Ab den 1970er Jahren wurden seine Melodien in ganz Westeuropa häufig als Melodien für Radiosendungen und Werbung verwendet. 2016, im Alter von 77 Jahren, feierte Brasseur ein bemerkenswertes Comeback und ging auf Tournee, unter anderem mit Vive La Fête. Er trat auch beim Pukkelpop in diesem Jahr auf und wurde der älteste Musiker, der dort spielte.
