André Brasseur est né à Ham-sur-Sambre en 1939. En 1965, il a écrit le succès mondial « Early bird », qui s’est vendu à plus de dix millions d’exemplaires. À partir des années 1970, ses mélodies ont été largement utilisées dans toute l’Europe occidentale comme mélodies pour des émissions de radio et des publicités. En 2016, à l’âge de 77 ans, Brasseur fait un retour remarqué et part en tournée avec, entre autres, Vive La Fête. Il s’est également produit au Pukkelpop cette année-là et est devenu le musicien le plus âgé à s’y produire.
