Wolvertem ist ein Dorf in der Provinz Flämisch-Brabant und ein Stadtteil der Gemeinde Meise. Wolvertem liegt nördlich des Dorfes Meise und war bis zur Gemeindereform von 1977 eine eigenständige Gemeinde. Die älteste Erwähnung des Ortsnamens findet sich in der Gründungsurkunde der Abtei Dieleghem im Jahr 1086 als Vulvrethem. Der Name geht vermutlich auf das 4. oder 5. Jahrhundert zurück. Der Namensbestandteil "Wolvert" leitet sich von dem fränkischen Personennamen Wolfhart oder Wolfert ab. Die Nachsilbe "em" bedeutet "Wohnsitz". Wolvertem bedeutet also "Wohnsitz von Wolfart".
