Es ist ein Krimidrama über Bauern und Gangster vor dem Hintergrund der belgischen Hormonenmafia. Der Film ist hauptsächlich im Limburger Dialekt, dem Truierland, gesprochen. Jacky Vanmarsenille ist ein Viehzüchter aus Sint-Truiden in Limburg, der indirekte Verbindungen zur Hormonenmafia hat. Aufgrund eines Traumas aus seiner Jugend hat er Schwierigkeiten im Umgang mit Frauen, und die Probleme in seinem Leben häufen sich. Besonders als er einen Bekannten aus seiner Vergangenheit trifft. Jacky Vanmarsenille wird meisterhaft von Matthias Schoenaerts verkörpert.
