Moresnet ist ein Dorf in der belgischen Provinz Lüttich und ein Stadtteil von Blieberg. Im Dorf wird neben Französisch als Amtssprache auch Plattdeutsch gesprochen, ein Limburgisches Dialekt.
Bis zur Auflösung des Herzogtums Limburg gehörte Moresnet zur Limburgischen Hochbank Montzen. Wie der Rest des Herzogtums wurde Moresnet bei der Annexion der Südlichen Niederlande durch die Französische Republik im Jahr 1795 in das damals gebildete Departement Ourthe eingegliedert.
