Die geologische Mauer
„Mehr als 540 Millionen Jahre Geschichte darstellen!“ Das war der Auftrag des Bildhauers Paolo Gasparoto. Er hatte die Idee, eine Zeitachse in drei Dimensionen darzustellen, um dem Gestein und dem wallonischen Boden Aufmerksamkeit zu schenken. In der Nähe des geologischen Wanderweges in Comblain-au-Pont und neben dem unterirdischen Steinbruch „Petit Banc“ wurde sein Werk realisiert. Besucher können über eine 54 m lange Mauer mit einem Winkel von 30° klettern. Jeder zurückgelegte Meter ist ein Sprung von 10 Millionen Jahren in die Vergangenheit! Einzigartig auf der Welt. Dieses Werk ist sowohl wissenschaftlich als auch didaktisch und künstlerisch äußerst interessant, und der Besucher wird die Felsen nie wieder auf die gleiche Weise betrachten.
