An vielen Stellen wäre dies ein einfaches Stück schlecht gemachter Straße. Aber hier ist es ein wahres geschichtsträchtiges Stück Kulturerbe, das sich wieder an die Oberfläche "porfiert". Die Kopfsteinpflaster der Chaussée de la Genette wurden hier respektlos übergossen und mit Asphalt verstopft. Doch das Erbe kriecht, wo es nicht gehen kann. Hier kommen die Porphyr-Kopfsteinpflaster, die im vergangenen Jahrhundert aus dem nahegelegenen Steinbruch geholt wurden, wieder durch den Asphalt hindurch.
