Der Bahnhof von Geel wurde 1880 erbaut. Geel wird von Zügen bedient, die von Antwerpen über Geel nach Hamont oder Hasselt fahren.
Im Jahr 2015 wurde die Strecke durch den Bahnhof elektrifiziert. Dadurch fahren heutzutage elektrische Züge zwischen Mol und Antwerpen. Dennoch wird der Bahnhof auch weiterhin von Diesellokomotiven bedient. Dies liegt daran, dass der Zug nach Hamont/Hasselt von Mol aus nicht elektrifizierte Strecken nutzt.
