Description

Das 3. deutsche Armeekorps und ein Teil der 9. rückten unter dem Kommando von General von Kluck zur Großen Gete zwischen Halen und Tienen vor. Das belgische 22. Linienregiment war in Sint-Margriete-Houtem einquartiert, rund um Grimde wurde die Linie vom 3. Linienregiment besetzt. Die 3. Gemischte Brigade schützte die südwest- bis südostseitige von Tienen. Ihre Aufgabe war es, die Getelinie zu verteidigen, den Rückzug der belgischen Armee zu decken und sie vor einer Umzingelung zu bewahren.
