Der Belfried von Kortrijk, in der Mitte des Großen Marktes, ist ursprünglich ein Turm der ehemaligen Tuchhalle. Die älteste Erwähnung dieser Halle stammt aus dem Jahr 1248, sie wurde Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts abgerissen.
Der Belfried selbst ist ein imposanter quadratischer Turm, leicht eingetieft, da der Markt im Laufe der Jahrhunderte angehoben wurde. Das heutige Aussehen wurde hauptsächlich 1520 geprägt.
Auf der Turmspitze steht eine vergoldete Statue aus dem Jahr 1712 von Merkur, dem römischen Gott des Handels, und an der Vorderseite sieht man Manten und Kalle, zwei Figuren, die die Stunde schlagen. Sie stammen aus dem Mittelalter, jedoch datieren die aktuellen Figuren aus dem Jahr 1961.
Der Turm steht seit 1937 unter Denkmalschutz und wurde 1999 von der Unesco als Weltkulturerbe anerkannt.
