Diese renaissancezeitliche Polderkirche (17. Jahrhundert) wurde aus Materialien einer älteren, weiter östlich gelegenen Kirche erbaut. Die Neupositionierung von Kirche und Dorf (1649) war notwendig nach dem Bau eines Deiches. Die Fassade wurde restauriert und das Innere mit einem hölzernen Gewölbe aus dem 18. Jahrhundert befindet sich in der Restaurierung. Pfarrer Heldewijs (erste Hälfte des 18. Jahrhunderts) lebte eine Zeit lang im ersten Stock des Turms, als das Pfarrhaus verkauft wurde und ihm kein anderes Zuhause zur Verfügung stand.
Die Kirche im Renaissance-Stil hat einen Ostturm, was in dieser Region recht ungewöhnlich ist.
