Description

Der Unterlauf des Zwarte Beek fließt von Meldert (Lummen) in südwestlicher Richtung, um bei Zelem (Halen) in das Tal der Demer überzugehen. Erst bei Diest vereint sie sich vollständig. Der Bach schlängelt sich hier zwischen immer höheren Zeugenbergen, manchmal verengend zu einem schmalen Streifen von Heu- und Wiesenflächen, dann wieder sich ausdehnend zu einer breiteren Zone, abhängig vom Raum, den die Hügel mit einem Substrat aus Eisen-Sandstein bieten.
