Als Kind stand Koenraad Tinel buchstäblich auf den Trümmern Europas. Mit seiner Familie erlebte er den Wahnsinn des Zweiten Weltkriegs am eigenen Leib. Über sechzig Jahre später schuf er rund um den bekannten Entstehungsmythos Europas eine beeindruckende Reihe von Tuschezeichnungen, Skizzen und Skulpturen. Eigenhändig realisierte er eine monumentale Stahlskulptur von acht mal neun Metern, stolz und bezaubernd. Indem der Künstler die uralte Geschichte der Entführung der Königstochter Europa mit Begeisterung und Leidenschaft heute neu erzählt und darstellt, verwandelt er seine tragischen Kriegserinnerungen in eine kraftvolle universelle künstlerische Geste.
