Da bambino, Koenraad Tinel si trovava letteralmente sulle rovine d'Europa. Insieme alla sua famiglia visse in prima persona la follia della Seconda Guerra Mondiale. Oltre sessanta anni dopo, realizzò una straordinaria serie di disegni a inchiostro, schizzi e sculture attorno al famoso mito di origine dell'Europa. Realizzò con le sue stesse mani un'opera monumentale in acciaio di otto per nove metri, fiera e incantevole. Raccontando e rappresentando con passione e fervore l'antica storia del rapimento della figlia del re Europa, l'artista trasforma i suoi tragici ricordi di guerra in un potente gesto artistico universale.
