Das Schloss ist heute ein Seniorenheim. Dieses Anwesen gehörte im 11. und 12. Jahrhundert der Sint-Michiels-Abtei, später in Privatbesitz, unter anderem der Familie Affaytadi (von 1535 bis 1807). Im zweiten Viertel des 16. Jahrhunderts wurde das Schloss neu erbaut, brannte während der Plünderzüge von Maarten van Rossem (1542, daher der Name Verbrand Hof) nieder und wurde anschließend wieder aufgebaut. Das heutige Gebäude stammt aus dem Jahr 1897 und wurde nach einem Entwurf von Alfons Van der Gucht im Auftrag von Graf G. Agie de Selsaete errichtet.
