Ernährt von dem Wasser der Laak macht sich die Große Nete auf die Suche nach ihrem Endziel. Bevor es soweit ist, schlängelt sich der Fluss eine Weile durch die Provinz Antwerpen und trägt dort seit Jahrhunderten zur Gestaltung der Landschaft bei, die wir heute kennen. Die Nete und die Nebenflüsse tragen dazu bei, dass die Landschaft in der Umgebung einen ziemlich grünen Charakter hat, trotz der nachteiligen Aktivitäten des Menschen.
