Alimentado por las aguas del Laak, el Grote Nete busca su destino final. Antes de que eso ocurra, el río serpentea un buen trecho por la provincia de Amberes y ha contribuido durante siglos a la formación del paisaje que conocemos hoy. El Nete y sus ríos afluentes contribuyen a que el paisaje en los alrededores tenga un carácter bastante verde, a pesar de la nefasta actividad del ser humano.
