Naturreservat Abeekvallei Das Tal der Abeek erstreckt sich zwischen der Donderslagse Heide und der Maas. Zusammen mit ihren Nebenbächen hat die Abeek die Region Meeuwen-Gruitrode in eine leicht hügelige Landschaft verwandelt. Das eigentliche Naturschutzgebiet umfasst 90 Hektar und liegt im 16 Kilometer langen oberstromliegenden Teil des Tals. Die nassesten Biotope sind Schilfflächen, Erlenbrüche, Teiche und artenreiche nasse Wiesen. An den trockeneren Talhängen findest du Heide, magere Wiesen, Tümpel und Wanderdünen.
