Als Zeuge des Aufschwungs der Glasindustrie zu Beginn des letzten Jahrhunderts und entworfen von dem Architekten Emile Claes, hat das Varia-Theater eine besondere Physiognomie: Mit seinen drei Kuppeln, die mit verzerrten Masken geschmückt sind und in den Himmel ragen, seiner breiten Fassade, die von hohen Pilastern mit Sphären gekrönt und den abgerundeten Linien der Giebel gekennzeichnet ist, erinnert es an den Wiener Jugendstil. 1986 stillgelegt, steht es seit 1992 aufgrund seiner äußeren Hülle unter Denkmalschutz.
