Die Alte Schelde ist nach einer künstlichen Abtrennung eines Scheldeschleifen am Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts übrig geblieben. Nach jahrelanger Verlandung wurde 2002 durch das Amt für Natur und Wald Ostflandern wieder offenes Wasser geschaffen.
Man kann frei um den angrenzenden Domänenwald wandern. Ein Ausgangspunkt befindet sich in der Hauptstraße gegenüber der Hausnummer 171.
