Am Carlos Dierickxplatz halten wir an dem aus dem 16. Jahrhundert stammenden Arkose-Stein Kwintie, rechts eingearbeitet in eine Rekonstruktion eines feudalen Vierschars, einer alten Form der Rechtsprechung, die im Freien stattfand. In der Mitte steht das Wappen von St. Bavo. St.-Martinus Asper stand unter dem Patronat der St.-Bavo-Abtei von Gent. Carlos Dierickx, fast ein halbes Jahrhundert Bürgermeister von Asper und Gavere nach der Fusion, hat seine Statue auf seinem Platz.
Der alte romanische Kirchturm von St. Martinus in Asper stammt aus dem 12. Jahrhundert.
