Am Tjenneboom genießt man eine panoramische Aussicht auf verschiedene Dörfer von Heers, Sint-Truiden und Borgloon. Der Baum befindet sich in der Nähe von Mettekoven, an der Grenze von vier Gemeinden: Voort, Mettekoven, Gotem und Hoepertingen. Der Baum steht auf einem Hügel von 92 Metern Höhe: dem höchsten Punkt in dieser Gegend.
An diesem Baum wurden in den dunklen Mittelalter "Hexen" verbrannt. Der Name "Tjenne" soll von Johanna oder Anna Michiels abgeleitet sein, die hier lebendig verbrannt wurde als Ende eines zwei Jahre dauernden Prozesses gegen diese 'Hexe' aus Mettekoven.
Am Tjenneboom hast du eine riesige Aussicht über das schöne wellige Haspengouw und bei klarem Wetter kannst du eine große Anzahl von Kirchtürmen sehen. In der Nähe des Baumes befindet sich auch das Denkmal für Tjenne.
