Die Mühle auf der Spitze des Poelbergs ist vom Typ Pfahlmühle (westflämisch für Standard- oder Standardmühle) mit offenem Fuß , deren Flügel etwa 24 Meter lang sind. Dies ist der älteste Holzwindmühlentyp in den Niederlanden (11. Jahrhundert in Sint-Denijs-Westrem). Diese Mühle lässt sich mit dem Heck in den Wind steuern.
Die Mühle ist häufig sonntagnachmittags in Betrieb (2022). Es gibt Kulturerbetage und spezielle Windmühlentage, an denen viele (west-)flämische Windmühlen in Betrieb sind. ( Windmill Heritage – Von Molenbrigade ). Mehr als 20 Windkraftanlagen sind in Westflandern aktiv.
