Die Kirche im neugotischen Stil ist gut gelegen, in der Nähe von Lesse und Maas. Die monumentale Außenansicht beeindruckt mit ihrem hohen Glockenturm und der rauen Baumasse aus blauem Stein. Der Bau endete 1913.
Die heilige Anna ist die Patronin dieser Kirche und von Anseremme. In die Kirche kommt sie wie so oft mit ihrer Tochter Marie, die sie ins Bibellesen einweiht. Ihre Verehrung entwickelte sich in Anseremme nach der Gegenreformation durch die Ausweitung der Verehrung der Heiligen Jungfrau, ihrer Tochter.
