Dieses Kriegerdenkmal in Dinant erinnert an die Opfer des 23. August 1914 . Am Sonntag, dem 23. August 1914, verübten die Deutschen die schrecklichsten Gewalttaten gegen die Zivilbevölkerung und die meisten Gebäude von Dinant wurden zerstört. Insgesamt 674 Einwohner, darunter Frauen, Alte und Kinder, werden von den Deutschen getötet.
An diesem nach dem Besitzer Mur Tschoffen benannten Ort wurden 116 Zivilisten von den Grenadieren der Einheit 100 der Sächsischen Garde getötet.
