Die Tiensestraat ist eine Straße im Zentrum von Leuven, die den zentral gelegenen Rector De Somerplein mit der Ringstraße von Leuven verbindet. Die Straße geht dort am Tiensepoort in den Tiensesteenweg über. Seit dem 1. Juni 2013 ist der Teil der Straße, der am weitesten in Richtung Zentrum liegt, bis zur Kreuzung mit der Bériotstraat vollständig verkehrsberuhigt, was zu einer starken Zunahme von Gastronomiebetrieben führte. Auf diese Weise wird die Straße zu einem Konkurrenten für die Muntstraat, die als DAS Restaurant-State of Leuven bekannt ist.
Der Erste Weltkrieg zerstörte einige der Gebäude entlang der Straße, insbesondere im ältesten Teil des Zentrums, danach folgte der Wiederaufbau mit Wiederaufbauarchitektur.
