Zinnen sind erhöhte Mauern , die um die Munitionsgebäude herum gebaut wurden.
Sie dienten dazu, bei einer Explosion oder einem Brand ein Übergreifen der Flammen auf andere Gebäude zu verhindern.
Die Miniaturgebäude wurden 2007-2008 abgerissen . An den Südhängen der Zinnen wachsen viele seltene Heidepflanzen .
In der Nähe befindet sich der 6 Meter hohe Heideturm. Die Architektur orientiert sich an den Wachtürmen der Kriegsgefangenen von 1945-1946, die hier in den Zeltlagern waren. Danach wurde es wieder als Munitionsdepot genutzt.
