Laut Gérard de Sède soll der bekannte Seher Nostradamus ein altes und geheimes Buch von der Abtei von Orval zur Einsicht gehabt haben. Er soll hierin auch eine Reihe seiner Vorhersagen niedergeschrieben haben. Bis zur Französischen Revolution und zur Zeit Napoleons erschienen aus Orval Bücher und Vorhersagen, die Nostradamus zugeschrieben werden.
