Santa Maria Val Müstair ist eine ehemalige Gemeinde im Schweizer Kanton Graubünden. Zur Gemeinde gehören neben dem Hauptort auch die kleinen Bergdörfer Sielva, Pizzet, Pütschai, Craistas und Büglios. Der höchste Punkt der Gemeinde ist der 3033 Meter hohe Piz Umbrail, der sich westlich des Umbrailpasses erhebt.
Eine Mehrheit von 70% der Bevölkerung spricht die rätoromanische Sprache, aber die Zahl ist rückläufig, 1970 sprachen noch 81% diese alte Sprache. Das bedeutendste Bauwerk im Zentrum ist die Dorfkirche aus dem Jahr 1492.
Santa Maria Val Müstair ist ein wichtiger Verkehrsknotenpunkt. Nach Osten führt die Straße in Richtung italienisches Meran und Reschenpass. Südlich der Stadt befindet sich der 2501 Meter hohe Umbrailpass und westlich von Santa Maria der Ofenpass, der mit dem Engadin verbunden ist.
