Santa Maria Val Müstair è una località del comune svizzero di Santa Maria Val Müstair, nel Canton Grigioni. Oltre alla capitale, il comune comprende anche i piccoli villaggi di montagna di Sielva, Pizzet, Pütschai, Craistas e Büglios. Il punto più alto del comune è il Piz Umbrail, alto 3033 metri, che sorge a ovest del Passo Umbrail.
La maggioranza del 70% della popolazione parla la lingua romancia, ma il numero è in diminuzione, nel 1970 l'81% parlava ancora questa lingua antica. L'edificio più importante del centro è la chiesa del villaggio del 1492.
Santa Maria Val Müstair è un importante snodo dei trasporti. A est la strada va verso il Merano italiano e il Passo Resia. A sud della città si trova il Passo Umbrail alto 2501 metri e ad ovest di Santa Maria si trova il Passo Ofen che collega l'Engadina.
