Santa Maria Val Müstair ist eine ehemalige Gemeinde im schweizerischen Kanton Graubünden und liegt im rätoromanischen Val Müstair. Zur Gemeinde gehören neben dem Hauptort auch die kleinen Bergdörfer Sielva, Pizzet, Pütschai, Craistas und Büglios. Der höchste Punkt der Gemeinde bildet der 3033 Meter hohe Piz Umbrail, der sich westlich des Umbrailpasses erhebt.
Von der Bevölkerung spricht eine Mehrheit von 70% die rätoromanische Sprache, die Zahl nimmt jedoch ab; 1970 sprachen noch 81% diese alte Sprache. Das wichtigste Bauwerk im Zentrum ist die Dorfkirche aus dem Jahr 1492.
Santa Maria Val Müstair ist ein wichtiger Verkehrsknotenpunkt. Nach Osten führt die Straße in Richtung des italienischen Meran und des Reschensattels. Im Süden des Ortes liegt der 2501 Meter hohe Umbrailpass und westlich von Santa Maria liegt der Ofenpass, der die Verbindung ins Engadin herstellt.
