Stolpen ist eine Kleinstadt in Sachsen. Die Stadt liegt etwa 25 Kilometer östlich von Dresden und gehört zum Landkreis Sächsische Schweiz-Osterzgebirge. Wahrzeichen und touristischer Anziehungspunkt von Stolpen ist die auf einem Basaltfelsen gelegene Ruine der Burg Stolpen.
Die Gemeinde gliedert sich in den Hauptort Stolpen sowie in die weiteren Ortsteile Heeselicht, Helmsdorf, Langenwolmsdorf, Lauterbach und Rennersdorf-Neudörfel.
