Die Ruine der Hauptkirche St. Nikolai am Hamburger Hopfenmarkt ist als Mahnmal St. Nikolai „den Opfern von Krieg und Gewaltherrschaft zwischen 1933 und 1945“ gewidmet. Die Kirche wurde 1195 begründet und in ihrer letzten neugotischen Ausführung 1874 fertiggestellt. Ihr 147,3 Meter hoher Turm war von 1874 bis 1877 das höchste Bauwerk der Welt.
Die Hauptkirche St. Nikolai wurde 1962 als Neubau in den Stadtteil Harvestehude an den Klosterstern verlegt.
