Steinau an der Straße ist eine Kleinstadt im Main-Kinzig-Kreis im Südosten des Landes Hessen. Der Zusatz „an der Straße“ bezieht sich auf die Via Regia, die alte Handelsstraße von Frankfurt am Main nach Leipzig, und dient seit 1975 der Unterscheidung von anderen gleichnamigen Orten. Die Stadt wurde ursprünglich nach „Steinen im Wasser“ benannt und trägt seit dem 20. März 2006 die amtliche Zusatzbezeichnung Brüder-Grimm-Stadt, da diese hier einen Teil ihrer Jugend verbrachten. Neben der Kernstadt hat Steinau an der Straße noch weitere 11 Stadtteile.
