Prüm [ˈpʰʀʏm] ist eine Stadt in der Westeifel , ehemalige Kreisstadt, heute Verwaltungssitz der gleichnamigen Verbandsgemeinde im Eifelkreis Bitburg-Prüm. Prüm ist ein staatlich anerkannter Luftkurort und gemäß Landesplanung als Mittelzentrum ausgewiesen.
Die Stadt Prüm liegt am Fluss Prüm am Fuß des Schneifel-Höhenzuges zwischen Ardennen und Eifel in einer Höhe von 420 bis 560 m ü. NHN . Die Stadt ist namensgebend für die größte der devonischen Kalkmulden der Eifel, die 240 km2 große Prümer Kalkmulde.
