Die kantige Struktur der Dörenther Klippen – mit 159 Metern einer der tieferen Punkte des Waldes – ist das Ergebnis der Verwitterungs. Da es Risse in den Felsen gab, war die verheerende Wirkung von Eis, Wasser und Wind intensiver und es entstand eine kapriziöse Form. Eine dieser Klippen sieht aus wie eine sitzende Frau. Dieser Felsen wird daher hier "Hockendes Weib" genannt.
