Die Lenne ist der längste Nebenfluss der Ruhr. Der Fluss entspringt am Gipfel des Kahler Asten bei Winterberg im Sauerland auf einer Höhe von 819 Metern. Die Lenne mündet nach einem Verlauf von 128 Kilometern bei Hagen in die Ruhr. Mit einer durchschnittlichen Durchflussrate von 25 Kubikmetern pro Sekunde ist der Fluss der größte Nebenfluss der Ruhr. Nach der Zusammenfließung beider Flüsse hat sich die Durchflussrate der Ruhr nahezu verdoppelt.
