Der Landkreis Backnang war ein Landkreis in Baden-Württemberg, der im Zuge der Kreisreform am 1. Januar 1973 aufgelöst wurde.
Geografisch hatte er Anteil am Schwäbisch-Fränkischen Wald. Das westliche Kreisgebiet durchfloss die Murr, das östliche Kreisgebiet der Kocher, zwei Nebenflüsse des Neckars.
