Die Firma Herbstreith & Fox KG ist Deutschlands führender Hersteller von Pektinen für die Lebensmittel-, Pharma- und Non-Food-Industrie. Ergänzt wird die Produktpalette durch Süßungsmittel und Ballaststoffe aus Früchten. Der Stammsitz des Unternehmens ist Neuenbürg.
Die Herbstreith & Fox KG wurde 1934 von Hermann Herbstreith als Pektin-Fabrik Hermann Herbstreith KG in Wolfzennen am Bodensee gegründet. Hermann Herbstreith erkannte die Nützlichkeit und die vielfältigen Verwendungsmöglichkeiten des Apfeltresters als wertvollen Rohstoff für die Herstellung von Apfelpektin. Im Jahr 1938 wurde das Unternehmen nach Neuenbürg verlegt, um Standortvorteile wie Wasser, bessere Rohstoffversorgung und mehr Kundennähe nutzen zu können. Nach dem Tod des Firmengründers übernahm sein Sohn Erwin Herbstreith im Jahr 1948 das Unternehmen.
