Am Anfang dieses Abhangs steht das Gasthaus Kupfer, eines der schönsten Fachwerkhäuser dieser ehemaligen Bergbaustadt am Südrand des östlichen Harz. Die spätgotischen und Renaissance-Fachwerkhäuser verteilen sich über die engen Gassen in der Umgebung des Rathauses und der Sankt Martinikche.
