Die Schlacht von Köln fand im Jahr 716 in der Nähe der Stadt Köln statt. Die Schlacht ist hauptsächlich als die erste Schlacht unter dem Kommando von Karl Martell bekannt und ist die einzige Niederlage seines Lebens.
Im Jahr 716 fielen der König der Franken, Chilperic II, und Ragenfrid, der Hausmeister von Neustrien, in Austrasien ein, um ihren Willen den dort konkurrierenden Fraktionen aufzuzwingen: denjenigen von Theudoald und Plectrude, dem Enkel und der Witwe des Vaters von Martell, Pippin von Heristal, und denjenigen von Martell selbst, der gerade aus Plectrudens Gefängnis in Köln entkommen war und zum Hausmeister von Austrasien ausgerufen wurde. Gleichzeitig fiel Radbod, König von Frisia, in Austrasien ein und verbündete sich mit dem König und den Neustriern.
