La bataille de Cologne a été menée près de la ville de Cologne en Austrasie , au début de l'année 716. Cette bataille est connue pour être le premier affrontement de Charles Martel et l'unique défaite de sa vie.
En 716, le roi, Chilperic II de Francie, son maire du palais de Neustrie, Raganfred envahissent l'Austrasie pour imposer leur autorité aux deux factions concurrentes : la faction de Théodebald et Plectrude, respectivement le petit-fils de Pépin de Herstal et sa veuve, et la faction de Charles Martel qui a été emprisonné par Plectrude dans la prison de Cologne.
