Beim Haus Dahl handelt es sich um einen ehemaligen Gutshof, der aus dem 12. Jahrhundert stammt und das erste Mal als Haus Dale im Jahr 1184 auftaucht. Im Jahr 1273 war dann vom Haus Daele die Rede. Zwischendurch wurde das Haus auch Burg genannt, was aus einer Urkunde von 1184 hervorgeht, als der Kölner Erzbischof die Burg erwarb.
Der Rittersitz war bis zum 15. Jahrhundert in den Händen derer von Dahl, kam dann in den Besitz derer von Kalle, anschließend hatten die Familien von Diepfhaus und von Degingk den Besitz unter sich, ab 1855 schließlich die Familie Gerstein. Haus Dahl war zu dieser zeit ein landtagsfähiger Rittersitz.
