Aufgrund der einzigartigen Lage der Stadt lassen sich Radtouren in und um Rees auch sehr gut mit einer Fahrt auf dem Rhein als auch über den Rhein kombinieren. So setzt die Personenfähre „Rääße Pöntje“ erlebnishungrige Radwanderer zwischen Rees und Reeserschanz über den mehr als 300 Meter breiten Rheinstrom (Fährsaison: Palmsonntag bis letzter Sonntag im Oktober, Mi., Fr., Sa., So. und an Feiertagen von 10 – 19 Uhr, im Oktober von 10 – 18 Uhr, in den NRW-Sommerferien zusätzlich auch donnerstags.) Darüber hinaus verkehren mit der Personenfähre "Inseltreue B" zwischen Grietherort und Grieth und der Personenfähre "Keer Tröch II" zwischen Wesel-Bislich und Xanten-Beek sowohl stromaufwärts wie stromabwärts zwei weitere Fähren für Fußgänger und Radfahrer.
