Schkopau ist eine Gemeinde im Saalekreis in Sachsen-Anhalt. Der Ort Schkopau liegt rund 6 km nördlich von Merseburg und 11 km südlich von Halle . Die längste Eisenbahnbrücke Europas, die Saale-Elster-Talbrücke, verläuft über das Territorium Schkopaus.
Im Norden grenzen Halle und Kabelsketal an Schkopau, im Osten Schkeuditz im Landkreis Nordsachsen, im Süden Leuna und Merseburg sowie Bad Lauchstädt und Teutschenthal im Westen.
