Um den Salzgittersee führt der Karl-Nestvogel-Weg. Man kann bei jedem Parkplatz in die leichte Wanderung einsteigen und den See umrunden. Der asphaltierte Weg ist auch bei schlechtem Wetter gut begehbar! Zahlreiche Einkehrmöglichkeiten und Spielplätze bieten Abwechslung am Wegesrand.
