Das Schloss Augustenburg in Augustenburg auf der Insel Alsen in Dänemark war namensgebend für die Linie Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Augustenburg, einen Familienzweig des Hauses Oldenburg. Die herzogliche Familie bewohnte das Schloss bis 1848, dann musste sie es infolge der Schleswig-Holsteinischen Erhebung verlassen. Das Gebäude diente danach anderen Zwecken: Es diente als Kaserne, Psychiatrie und Behördensitz .
