Nach einer katastrophalen Flut im Jahr 1957, die die Stadt Valencia verwüstete, wurde der Fluss Turia an den westlichen Stadtgrenzen in zwei Teile geteilt. Das alte Flussbett ist jetzt ein üppiger, versunkener Park, der Radfahrern und Fußgängern ermöglicht, einen großen Teil der Stadt ohne Nutzung von Straßen zu durchqueren. Der Park, genannt der 'Garten des Turia' (JardÝ del T·ria/JardÝn del Turia), bietet zahlreiche Teiche, Wege, Brunnen, Blumen, Fußballfelder, Cafés, Kunstwerke, Kletterwände, eine Leichtathletikbahn, einen Zen-Garten und mehr. Die vielen Brücken darüber führen den Verkehr über den Park.
