Der Parc de la Ciutadella ist der größte Park Barcelonas. Er stammt aus dem Jahr 1888 und enthält einen monumentalen Wasserfall, einen Teich und einen romantischen Garten im englischen Stil, umgeben von zwei Boulevards. Ursprünglich war der Park ein Fort, das in Form eines Sterns entworfen wurde. Zur Zeit Napoleons wurde es zu einem Gefängnis.
Im Jahr 1888 wurde der Park für die Weltausstellung genutzt. In dieser Zeit wurden viele Gebäude im Park errichtet. Die Gärten und Brunnen wurden unter anderem von Antoni Gaudí bereits früher entworfen.
