Le Parc de la Ciutadella est le plus grand parc de Barcelone. Il date de 1888 et comprend une monumentale cascade, un étang et un jardin romantique de style anglais entouré de deux boulevards. À l'origine, le parc était une forteresse, conçue sous la forme d'une étoile. À l'époque de Napoléon, il est devenu une prison.
En 1888, le parc a été utilisé pour l'exposition universelle. Pendant cette période, de nombreux bâtiments ont été construits dans le parc. Les jardins et les fontaines avaient déjà été conçus par, entre autres, Antoni Gaudí.
